AMMAN (Petra) - Acting Senate President Fayez Tarawneh on Wednesday met with Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos, chancellor of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago, and an accompanying delegation from the Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago. During the meeting, Tarawneh indicated that Jordan is an example of tolerance and moderation, noting that Muslims and Christians in the Kingdom live side by side in peace and harmony. Tarawneh pointed out that the Amman Message reflects Islam as a religi?n of tolerance and compassion and underlines its rejection of all forms of terrorism. Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation of the Kingdom in enhancing friendship between Jordan and US and its role in promoting peace.
