The Commemoration of the Fall of Constantinople

The ‘Fall of Constantinople 2011’ Commemoration will be held on Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 beginning promptly at 7:00PM at the S. J. Gregory Auditorium of the St. Andrew Church, 5649 N. Sheridan Road in Chicago, Illinois. As in previous years, it will be offered by: The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago, The Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and the Hellenic Society of Constantinople. Refreshments will be served.

This year’s observance is entitled “Tracing Constantinople.” It will feature a newly released video presentation by the same title, showcasing Hagia Sophia, The Walls, The Ecumenical Patriarchate, Byzantine Art and The Last Byzantine Renaissance and the Chora Monastery (Kariye Camii).
