Dear parents and campers of our Fanari Family, Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!

At this time of great uncertainty, the staff, clergy and volunteers of Fanari Summer Camp continue to pray for the continued safety and well being of you and your family.

After considering the stark challenges posed by COVID-19, and with much deliberation with Fanari Camp’s Leadership Team and relevant experts, I must regrettably announce the cancellation of the 2020 Fanari Summer Camp program. Given the extended shelter in place order through May 26, it seems improbable that the State of Wisconsin will allow large gatherings of 200+ people during the period that Fanari Summer Camp is to take place. Based on the information available to us as of this writing, it’s more probable that the guidelines will be extended rather than lifted. Additionally, it is nearly impossible for us to ensure the health and safety of our clergy, staff, counselors, and campers throughout the course of the five week-long sessions of summer camp. While not an easy decision to make, we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is the right decision to keep our children, their families, and our faithful safe.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in other disruptions to the Metropolis’ events. To date, this year’s Oratorical Festival has been moved to an all-virtual event, the Junior Olympics have been cancelled, Lighthouse Camp has been postponed, and the Metropolis Servant Leadership Awards Banquet has been postponed.

We are to remain steadfast and unified during this time when we are called to take exceptional measures to protect those around us. Please visit the special page on our website that provides information related to COVID-19 as well as resources to enjoy with your loved ones.

In the coming days, the Fanari Camp Leadership Team will be in touch with those who registered for the 2020 Fanari Summer Camp program to offer a full refund and to provide information on the supplemental 2020 Fanari Virtual Summer Days.

I hope and pray that you and your families remain safe, prayerful, and united during this Paschal Season. If you would like to contribute any of your registration to the CPR to support our parishes and ministries, or if you have any questions, concerns, or comments regarding camp, contact the Fanari Camping Ministries Office at: office@fanari.camp.

With paternal love in the Risen Christ,
