National Hellenic Museum Resident Scholar Dr. Katie Kelaidis will lead a lively Zoom discussion that will attempt to bridge this gap\, highlighting the rich history of Modern Greek literature\, including some of its key players and products. This discussion will also explore why we know so little about Modern Greek literature and what we can do to correct that.

DESCRIPTION:Hellenic Bar Association members\, law students\, and the general public are invited to open the New Year at its annual vasilopita celebration! \nThe celebration will take place on January 10\, 2023 from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM at Artopolis Bakery\, Cafe & Agora in Greektown Chicago. \nVasilopita (pronounced vah-see-LO-pee-tah) is the Greek new year’s cake that has a coin hidden in it. It is tradition for each family to have its own vasilopita\, and a piece is cut for each family member. If the coin is in your piece\, you will have many blessings for the rest of the year.  \nThis event is free for HBA members who renew their 2023 membership on or before the event! Non-members can attend for $20. Admission includes appetizers and vasilopita.  \nKindly RSVP by January 5\, 2023.
