The retreat will include two day-long sessions\, one in June and one in August. \nThe June session will focus on strategies to strengthen your practice of sermon preparation\, emphasizing an approach that integrates preaching with the ongoing spiritual life. Additionally\, we will discuss biblical and rhetorical foundations for effective preaching. This first session will also include in-depth discussion on how to effectively solicit quality feedback from your hearers to better ensure that the sermon makes possible a transformative encounter with Jesus Christ. \nThe second session at the end of the summer will be an opportunity for us to come together to reflect on the strategies learned during the first session and to report on the lessons that we have learned by employing the strategies addressed in the first session. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLodging Information: \nRegistrants are responsible for booking their own lodging. DESCRIPTION:The annual Lake County Greek Fest takes place on Friday\, July 7\, Saturday\, July 8\, and Sunday\, July 9 on the grounds of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville.  Greek Fest will be open each day from 11 AM until 9 PM. \nThe event will be held on the church grounds on O’Plaine Road\, south of Route 120 (Belvidere Road) and north of Route 137 (Buckley Road).  The beautiful golden dome of the fourteen-year-old church can be seen from the I-94 Tollway.  Visitors will be able to tour the beautiful Fifth Century design Byzantine church with the pastor\, Father Thomas Alatzakis. \nCome for the Greek food including Lamb\, Souvlakia (shish-kebab)\, Athenian chicken\, Gyros\, Spanakopita (spinach pie)\, and more!  There will also be delicious Greek pastries\, Greek music and dancing! \nSpecial musical act for Friday night will be the 80’s cover band\, The Breakfast Club\, which will be appearing from 6 pm to 9 pm. \nSt. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church is located at 1400 North O’Plaine Road\, Libertyville\, IL (between Rt.120 & Rt.137).  There is no admission to the event and FREE parking will be available on-site. \nDrive-thru service will be available each day from 4 PM until 7 PM.   \nCall 224-513-5530 or email officeadmin@saintdemetrioslibertyville.com for more details.
