Classes are open to all\, but especially those interested in joining the Church through Baptism and/or Chrismation. The class will cover the basics of Orthodox Christianity over a twelve-week period and will be taught by several instructors with graduate theological education. There is no cost and it’s a great way for everyone of any age (teenage and above) and background to learn about our Faith.

SUMMARY:St. Demetrios Church in Libertyville Greek Fest
DESCRIPTION:The annual Lake County Greek Fest takes place on Friday\, July 7\, Saturday\, July 8\, and Sunday\, July 9 on the grounds of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville.  Greek Fest will be open each day from 11 AM until 9 PM. \nThe event will be held on the church grounds on O’Plaine Road\, south of Route 120 (Belvidere Road) and north of Route 137 (Buckley Road).  The beautiful golden dome of the fourteen-year-old church can be seen from the I-94 Tollway.  Visitors will be able to tour the beautiful Fifth Century design Byzantine church with the pastor\, Father Thomas Alatzakis. \nCome for the Greek food including Lamb\, Souvlakia (shish-kebab)\, Athenian chicken\, Gyros\, Spanakopita (spinach pie)\, and more!  There will also be delicious Greek pastries\, Greek music and dancing! \nSpecial musical act for Friday night will be the 80’s cover band\, The Breakfast Club\, which will be appearing from 6 pm to 9 pm. \nSt. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church is located at 1400 North O’Plaine Road\, Libertyville\, IL (between Rt.120 & Rt.137).  There is no admission to the event and FREE parking will be available on-site. \nDrive-thru service will be available each day from 4 PM until 7 PM.   \nCall 224-513-5530 or email officeadmin@saintdemetrioslibertyville.com for more details.

Additionally\, we will discuss biblical and rhetorical foundations for effective preaching.
