Chicago’s Greeks in News Photographs from 1930-1990, compiled and edited by Gregory Pappas with a foreword written by His Grace Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos, is a stunning new coffee table book featuring over 150 news photographs from major Chicago newspapers spanning the decades from the onset of photography in newspapers from the 1930s, all the way until their demise in the 1990s when digital photography became the norm in media. The collection spans the life of a vibrant, proud community, their parades and demonstrations, their faith and cultural traditions and their deep connections to their ancestral homeland.
