Come to our church almost any time of day, and you’re likely to see Irene Booras taking care of things. A 30-year member, Irene has taught Sunday school for 20 years, is a decades-long member of Philoptochos and Daughters of Penelope (holding every office in each), and currently serves on the Parish Council. She organizes, greets, cares for, and supervises the community service workers who help with festivals, meals, and weekly/monthly events. Irene is a co-chair and leader of our three food festivals, where she helps organize, bake and serve. She also solicits and contributes raffle prizes for these events and makes sure they run smoothly. Like so many others, Irene humbly and quietly does all these things with a smile, warmly encouraging others to join in. No task or errand is below her. Irene is a major reason our church functions well, and for all she does, we are ever grateful.
