A Message from His Eminence, Metropolitan Nathanael
Dear Friend,
When I first entered the Holy Metropolis of Chicago, my message to you was quite simple: walk with me! The invitation to walk alongside each other was a reminder that the journey leading to Christ is not a self-centered exercise; it’s a path meant to be explored by brothers and sisters together.
On this shared journey we are naturally called to take care of each other, especially when enduring challenges and difficulties. As a sister becomes weary, we must give her courage; as a brother despairs, we must give him hope. And as we extend our love to each other, we not only draw closer to Christ, but more importantly, we become extensions of His merciful presence in the world.
Each time we care for someone in need we are transformed into God’s very own Hands of Mercy! As stewards and supporters of the Holy Metropolis of Chicago, this is tangibly achieved when we support longstanding and innovative ministries of the Church.
Beloved friends of the Holy Metropolis of Chicago, my initial invitation to walk with me still stands. Today, however, I send you a new invitation: stretch forth your hands. Stretch forth your one hand to God and receive His abundant blessings; stretch forth the other to a person in need and watch as your hands are transformed into the Lord’s Hands of Mercy!

Reasons to Support Your Metropolis
Why Give?
Our annual giving campaign is meant to provide our Metropolis with the financial stability necessary to operate efficiently and effectively.
How Will Your Gift Be Used?
Unrestricted gifts are directed for greatest needs at the discretion of the Metropolitan and the Metropolis Council.
What About Accountability & Transparency?
Every dollar given to the program will be accounted for and publicly disclosed in audited financial statements of the Metropolis.
What Impact Will Your Gift Make?
Among other things, our annual giving program will allow the Metropolis to secure necessary staffing, improve its communications, and expand its social media and online presence. It will also impact important Metropolis ministries. Specifically, your support will:
- Enhance Religious Education
- Develop Clergy Wellness Programs
- Expand Youth Ministries
- Introduce Mentoring and Leadership Formation Plans
- Increase Family Care Resources
- Revamp Camping Ministries
- Support Hospital & Prison Ministries
- Improve College Campus Ministries
Monies will be invested in new programs. These new programs will be implemented to meet the needs of the faithful of the Metropolis.
