The Metropolis of Chicago Annual Vision Campaign provides annual support for the advancement of the five core priorities of the Metropolis of Chicago’s Vision for Growth:
- Develop Clergy to be servant-leaders who lead by example
- Support Parishes to nourish the spiritual growth of the faithful
- Expand Philanthropy so our communities are centered by our churches
- Increase Engagement with young adults, converts, and faith seekers and encourage them to embrace of our faith
- Fuel Growth of parish life by eliminating debt and other liabilities that limit our potential impact
Through these five core priorities, the Metropolis of Chicago will realize the future that Orthodox Christians hope and pray for. We will have stronger relationships with loved ones. We will contribute meaningfully to our communities and our Church. And we will do so through unity in Christ.

What is the Vision for Growth?
The Vision for Growth is the long-term vision of the Metropolis of Chicago. The vision statement was first articulated by His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael at the 2023 Clergy-Laity Assembly and represents deep-seated aspirations of the faithful of the Metropolis of Chicago.
What are the key elements of the Vision for Growth?
The key elements of the Vision for Growth are: Develop Clergy, Support Parishes, Expand Philanthropy, Increase Engagement, and Fuel Growth. All current and prospective efforts of the Metropolis of Chicago will support one or more of these core priorities.
What is the Annual Vision Campaign?
The Annual Vision Campaign provides annual support for the advancement of the five core priorities of the Metropolis of Chicago Vision for Growth. Moreover, a portion of all funds donated to the Annual Vision Campaign will be reinvested into philanthropic initiatives on the Metropolis and parish levels.
Does the Annual Vision Campaign benefit parishes?
Yes, parishes will benefit directly and indirectly from investments made through the Annual Vision Campaign. All Annual Vision Campaign initiatives will support one or more of the five core priorities of the Vision for Growth.
How was the Vision for Growth developed?
His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael first articulated the Vision for Growth at the 2023 Clergy-Laity Assembly. More than 100 clergy and lay leaders of the Metropolis of Chicago were consulted in addition to His Eminence’s personal reflection of the needs, concerns, and hopes of the faithful of the Metropolis of Chicago.
