The Martha & Mary Maternity House in the northwest suburbs of Chicago offers practical, emotional, and spiritual support for expectant mothers who find themselves alone or without a good, safe home through pregnancy and childbirth.
We respect a mother’s courage in giving life to a child, and we are here to support mothers choose the best path going forward.
Martha & Mary House exists to provide free help to mothers and their children, and to welcome mothers into our home as a “daughter” created in the image of God and loved by Him.
Located in Niles, a northwestern suburb of Chicago, we provide:
- Housing in a safe, family-style home
- Healthy meals
- Access to medical care
- Spiritual guidance
- Career preparation
- Parenting and life skills classes
- Referrals to counseling services
As a nonprofit and a ministry organized by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago, our goal is to offer practical, emotional, and spiritual support through pregnancy and childbirth, and to help mothers choose the best path for herself and her child going forward.
We help all women, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, social background, or marital status. We welcome women at any stage of pregnancy and generally are able to continue to provide help within our home until a couple of months after a child is born. We work together with the mother to plan for a safe and stable home for the future.
