The St. John of Damascus League of Chanters is comprised of the Metropolis of Chicago chanters and assistant chanters. It aims to strengthen relationships among chanters of the Metropolis while cultivating them morally and spiritually. The league also helps promote the study and development of Byzantine Music. The choir of the League of Chanters chants at the various area Vespers and other services or events throughout the year. Moving forward, we aim to support the Metropolis Byzantine School of Music as best as we can, so that future generations can continue to learn the sacred hymnology of our Greek Orthodox Church.
