Second POD ALN Leadership Event Held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church

On Sunday, October 1, 2023, the Pilgrimage of Discovery (POD), a 2023 Pilot Program of the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate involving an all-expenses paid trip to Constantinople and an audience with His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, held a second Archon Alumni Leadership Network (ALN) presentation at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago. 

ALN Ambassador George Valcarcel was joined by Archon National Secretary and Regional Commander Gus M. Pablecas and Archon Hon. Jeffery Chrones. The event began with an Archon presentation on the five key issues facing the Ecumenical Patriarchate by Archon Chrones. Then ALN Ambassador George Valcarcel spoke on his experiences during the Pilgrimage of Discovery while providing a PowerPoint Archon presentation of the trip. 

Following each POD, as part of the eligibility requirements for participation in the program, the young adult participants are performing an ALN ambassadorship by presenting their POD experience at their home parish, accompanied by Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
