On Sunday, October 20, 2024, following the Divine Liturgy at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America invested 28 new Archons residing throughout the United States. Congratulations to our three new Archons in the Metropolis of Chicago:
- Jani Gjoni, Laosynaktis
- Hon. Anthony C. Kyriakopoulos, Dikaiophylax
- Dean T. Maragos, Esq., Nomophylax
Archons are honorees recognized by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for their outstanding service to the Church. They are well-known, distinguished, and well-respected leaders of the Orthodox Christian community. Those selected to serve as Archons have demonstrated a commitment greater than average toward the stewardship of time, talent, and treasure, for the betterment of the Church, Parish, Diocese/Metropolis, Archdiocese, and the community as a whole. They have taken an affirmation to protect and preserve the Most Holy Mother Church, our Ecumenical Patriarch, and our Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
The Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in America are recognized as one of the leading religious freedom organizations, focusing on the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
AXIOS!
