Legendary Greek Singer GEORGE DALARAS
to Perform in Chicago November 30, 2014

All Proceeds to Benefit St. Iakovos Camp and Retreat Center

The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago is proud to announce a benefit concert, featuring Greece’s biggest selling entertainer, George Dalaras, with all proceeds benefiting the St. Iakovos Camp and Retreat Center.

The concert will take place on Sunday evening, November 30, 2014 at Chicago’s Harris Theater in Millennium Park and is part of Dalaras’ “Rembetiko Unplugged” international tour.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to partake in the musical traditions of the Greek people while simultaneously promoting the St. Iakovos Camp and Retreat Center, a vital ministry of the Metropolis,”commented His Grace Bishop Demetrios, who has undertaken the planning of this event.

Dalaras will be accompanied by a host of singers and musicians from Greece for his show, which will feature Asia Minor and Rembetika songs of yesteryear originally composed by some of Greece’s greets composers, like Vasilis Tsitsanis and Markos Vamvakaris.

A special section of limited tickets are being made available at a discounted price for young people active in the Young Adult Ministries of the Metropolis.
