Frances Klimis has been a dedicated and faithful Greek Orthodox Christian from the time she joined the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She is involved in many ministries and programs in our community. Besides being an avid member of our Philoptochos Society, Cathedral Choir and Senior Citizens group, she has taken on the leadership role in many of our outreach ministries. She helped launch the Spaghetti Dinner, which benefits the Ross Township/Cathedral Food Pantry. Since its inception 12 years ago, the Spaghetti Dinner has raised over $150,000 to benefit the Food Pantry, which serves the needy of Ross Township and the Orthodox community of the Great Northwest Indiana area. She has also organized various fundraisers that assist our parish’s Helping Hand Fund and Youth Ministries. She single handedly turned around a dying Philoptochos and turned it into a vibrant group within the Metropolis, Archdiocese and Patriarchate.
