“Repentance is the Mystery of God’s love for man. We go to confession and feel reconciled with God; we feel joy inside, and guilt departs. We approach immortality with no anxiety, and with no fear. In Orthodoxy there is no dead-end, because there is a confessor who has received the grace to offer forgiveness.” – St. Porphyrios of Kavsokalyvia
Authentic repentance begins with reflecting on who we truly are in the presence of God. Set aside some quiet time this week to stand in front of your icons and to sincerely reflect on the ways you have sinned against God and others. After reflecting, reach out to your priest to schedule a time to participate in the sacrament of Holy Confession.
