Archons from the Metropolis of Chicago welcomed Archbishop Elpidophoros of America on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, 2026, for the Ordination to the Episcopacy of His Grace, Bishop Dionysios of Zenopolis.
On Friday evening, Archbishop Elpidophoros presided over the service of the Akathist Hymn at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Westchester, Illinois. On Saturday, His Eminence presided over Orthros, Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and the Ordination to the Episcopacy of His Grace Bishop Dionysios of Zenopolis at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Palos Hills, Illinois, followed by a celebratory luncheon in honor of His Grace at the Carlisle Banquets.
Hierarchs from across the United States traveled to Chicago to participate, joining Archbishop Elpidophoros and His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago for the ordination. Attending Hierarchs included His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos, His Eminence Metropolitan Constantine, His Eminence Metropolitan Theoktistos, His Grace Bishop Nektarios, His Grace Bishop Iakovos, and His Grace Bishop Anthony.
Archons from the Metropolis of Chicago, along with clergy and faithful throughout the region, also attended the services, the ordination and the luncheon celebrating His Grace Bishop Dionsyios.
