METROPOLIS OF CHICAGO PHILOPTOCHOS 2017 LENTEN RETREAT

OVER 150 PHILOPTOCHOS MEMBERS GATHER FOR OUTSTANDING PRESENTATIONS BY FR TILEMAHOS ALIKAKOS AND FR DAVID EYNON

CHICAGO, IL: The Metropolis of Chicago Philoptochos Society gathered at St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago on Saturday, March 11, for their Annual 2017 Lenten Retreat. Themed “Faith, Hope And Love In Action” and lead by Retreat Master Bishop Demetrios of Mokissos, the gathered listened to wonderful presentations by Father Tilemahos Alikakos in Greek and Father David Eynon in English. The group was honored to be joined for lunch by His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos.

Both presentations focused on the need for more Greek Orthodox parishioners, and more citizens in general, to sign up for Organ Donor Programs. With no spiritual reason not to participate, and with such a high need for Organ Donor participants, the group heard from numerous beneficiaries of Organ Donations. Bishop Demetrios stated to the group his support of Organ Donation and his registration as an Organ Donor.
