LOMBARD, IL, February 7, 2022– The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago announced today that Danielle Mavridis has joined the Metropolis staff as the Director of the Office of the Metropolitan, a new, full-time position.
In her role, Mavridis will serve as the Executive Assistant to His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael and help oversee the Metropolis’ digital marketing, which previously had been the responsibility of an outside contractor.
“I’m grateful that Danielle has joined our Metropolis team. As the Director the Office of the Metropolitan, she will help us become more efficient and effective in our service to our community. Moreover, her background, interests, and general point of view on how not-for-profit institutions effectively operate and grow make her an asset to the Metropolis. We look forward to working with her as a colleague and learning from her many experiences,” said His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael.
The new position will help His Eminence devote more time to support and advance community outreach, parish growth, and Metropolis ministries. The position was created through the consolidation of various job responsibilities and realizing greater operating efficiencies.
“I am honored and proud to be part of the Metropolis of Chicago at a time of great change and growth,” said Danielle Mavridis. “Given its talent pool, its momentum, and its aspirational goals, the Metropolis is capable of so much. I am excited to play a role in its journey to better serve its clergy, parishioners, and communities.
Previously, Danielle was a digital marketing and events manager for governmental and nonprofit organizations. She earned a B.A. in political science from Northern Illinois University and an M.P.A. from Columbus State University. A convert to the Greek Orthodox faith, Danielle and her husband, Savas, attend St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Elgin and reside in Lombard.
