DES MOINES – An early wake-up call and the sweltering heat couldn’t break the focus of two teams battling for the ultimate prize: bragging rights. The winning team’s photo would be immortalized on a Wheaties cereal box, which would later be displayed in the parish hall of St. George Greek Orthodox Church for all congregants to see. That team also would claim victory of the inaugural Telos Olympics, a friendly competition hatched by the church’s newest group of 20- and 30-somethings having fun with faith.
