CHICAGO, IL, October 26, 2026 — The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago announced today that it received an unmodified, or “clean,” opinion from its independent auditors on its 2025 consolidated financial statements.

This is the seventh consecutive year the Metropolis of Chicago has received an unmodified opinion.

Miller, Cooper & Co., Ltd. audited the financial statements, which encompass the Metropolis of Chicago, the St. Iakovos Retreat Center, and the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago Foundation. The firm concluded that the statements present fairly, in all material respects, the organizations’ financial position and results in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.

The clean opinion provides parishes and donors with sustained confidence in the Metropolis’s financial reporting as they continue to support its ministries.

“The generosity of our faithful and parishes carry a sacred trust, and we are committed to managing these resources with care, professionalism, and transparency. I am grateful to our Metropolis Council and volunteer leaders for their commitment to responsible stewardship,” said His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael. “Through sound governance, effective operations, and strong financial controls, we seek to set an example that current and future parish leaders can follow.”
