LOMBARD, IL, February 2, 2022 – The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago announced today that a newly designed Metropolis website is live and available to all visitors.
Beyond its design aesthetic, the new website offers a more intuitive, user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality.
Newly implemented features and benefits of the Metropolis website include:
- A user-friendly and searchable master calendar showcasing Metropolis, parish, and community events through one interface
- An online event submission form allowing pre-approved users the ability to submit events for public display
- A secure portal dedicated to clergy and parish leaders for administrative, learning, and communications needs
- A seamless process for making donations to the Metropolis, allowing for customizable campaigns on behalf of parishes and a richer understanding of the needs and concerns of donors
- Synchronization with relevant third-party apps (i.e., users can subscribe to be notified of upcoming Metropolis events on their own calendars)
“Design is an important quality of our new website. Since ours is a faith of truth, love, and beauty, we wanted our faithful, neighbors, and faith seekers to have this experience through our online presence,” said His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael. “A website is a window that presents to the public who we are and why we exist. In that spirit, we want all of our visitors to know they are always welcome and there is always a place for them in the Church.”
Because the website is designed on an open-source content management system, the Metropolis will have greater flexibility to build and innovate online resources as needs and opportunities avail themselves. In time, the Metropolis foresees the automation of the sacramental registry, giving parishioners the convenience and timeliness concerning crucial religious documentation.
