Chicago, IL, September 2, 2026 —The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago is pleased to welcome Sandra Glisic as Director of Operations. Sandra, who is already serving in the role, brings nearly a decade of experience leading Orthodox nonprofits and managing church administration.

In this role, Sandra will strengthen the administrative foundation that supports clergy, parishes, ministries, and volunteers while advancing the Church’s mission across the Midwest. Her work will help drive strategic planning, operational excellence, and collaboration throughout the Metropolis. Parish representatives recommended creating the position during last year’s Metropolis-wide budgeting process, recognizing the value that dedicated operational leadership could bring to the Metropolis of Chicago.

“Sandra is a welcome addition to our leadership team, reflecting our ongoing commitment to bring together the right people who help us advance our mission as a Metropolis. Her seasoned experience, collaborative approach, and keen insight will enhance our operations, enabling us to better serve our clergy, faithful, and ministries so that every parish can flourish,” said His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael.

Before joining the Metropolis, Sandra served as Director of Operations for Orthodox Youth & Young Adult Ministries (OYM), helping the organization serve Orthodox ministries nationwide. She oversaw operations, strategic planning, communications, human resources, financial management, and board support.

Sandra previously served as Parish Administrator at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Glenview, Illinois, where she managed parish operations, supported ministries, and worked closely with clergy and lay leaders.

“Serving the Church is a source of great joy, meaning, and purpose,” said Sandra. “I am honored to support His Eminence’s vision by helping build the processes, relationships, and culture that enable our clergy, parishes, ministries, and faithful to grow together in Christ.”

Sandra holds degrees and professional certificates from Concordia University Chicago, DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, Tufts University, and the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She also teaches nonprofit and parish leadership at Hellenic College Holy Cross.

A lifelong member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago, Sandra brings a deep commitment to the unity and shared mission of the Orthodox Church. She can be reached at [email protected].
