His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos of Chicago joined Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral and St George Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago for Thanksgiving Feed the Hungry. For 26 years, His Eminence has attended this Thanksgiving Day event and serves the mashed potatoes.

Food is donated by a dual steward of the the Cathedral and St. George anonymously. Over 150 meals this year where served to those in need of assistance in Chicago. About 60 volunteers come out each year from the two parishes to make this event possible.

Each year an anonymous Cathedral steward offers hats, gloves, and socks to each of the people attending in addition to a hygiene packet with various products.
