Metropolis of Chicago launches new podcast series designed to train and educate the faithful on parish-based servant leadership
Lombard, IL, June 3, 2022. The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago today announced the launch of its new podcast-style educational series, Called to Lead: An Orthodox Christian Perspective. Primarily intended for parish council members, heads of ministry, and volunteer coordinators, the series is envisioned to be a leadership development program rooted in Orthodox Christian ideas and values.
The program was developed by the Metropolis’ Lay Leadership Strategic Plan Goal Team, which settled on a podcast-style format to deliver its leadership tutorials anytime, anywhere. The series is available on the Metropolis website at: https://chicago.goarch.org/called-to-lead/.

“Our Holy Metropolis is blessed by the talent, knowledge, and insight of our clergy and lay leaders. Paying these God-given gifts forward is one of the most important actions we can take as a Metropolis. We hope and pray for good deeds to multiply among our parishes in the spirit of Proverbs, ‘As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another,’” said His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael.
The Metropolis wishes to acknowledge and thank the members of the Lay Leadership Strategic Plan Goal Team for their tireless work in developing this podcast program. Members include: Demitri Fardelos (Co-Chair, St. Demetrios, Libertyville, IL), Harry Fournier (Co-Chair, St. Demetrios, Elmhurst, IL), Chris Limperis (Assumption, Chicago, IL), Mary Scott (St. Andrew, South Bend, IN and St. Sophia, Elgin, IL), Anna Sikoral (St. Haralambos, Niles, IL), and Nikki Vulgaris (All Saints, Peoria, IL).
