Metropolis of Chicago Announces
Feast-day Celebrations in honor of St. Iakovos
Patron Saint of His Eminence, Metropolitan IAKOVOS of Chicago

This year, as Metropolitan IAKOVOS of Chicago marks his 35th anniversary as the Presiding Hierarch of the Holy Metropolis of Chicago and his 45th anniversary as a hierarch of the Church, the clergy and the faithful will be observing the feast-day of St. Iakovos, their spiritual shepherd’s Apostolic Patron, with the celebration of the Great Vesper Service and a Hierarchical con-celebrated Divine Liturgy.

On Wednesday, October 22nd, the celebration of the Great Vesper Service will take place at St. Iakovos Church, 36 W. 700 North, Valparaiso, IN, beginning at 7:00 PM. On Thursday, October 23rd, the feast-day of St. Iakovos, a hierarchical con-celebration of the Divine Liturgy of Saint Iakovos will be celebrated at the Annunciation Cathedral in Chicago, 1017 N. LaSalle, beginning with the Service of Orthros at 9:00 AM. The clergy, chanters and faithful of the Holy Metropolis of Chicago, as well as the students and teachers of the day and afternoon schools are invited to join in these celebrations.

The annual grand banquet sponsored by the Metropolis of Chicago Clergy Syndesmos in honor of Metropolitan IAKOVOS of Chicago, benefiting the Saint Iakovos Retreat Center & the Ministries of the Clergy Syndesmos, will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at The Cotillion Banquets (360 S. Creekside Drive, Palatine, IL 60074. Telephone (847) 934-5500) beginning with a reception at 6:00 PM and followed promptly with dinner at 7:00 PM.
