George Papaioannou is a dedicated steward of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Since his arrival as a young man from Greece, he has been an established and positive role model and mentor in our parish and overall community in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago. His commitment to his family as a devoted husband, father, grandfather is unwavering and respected by all. He ran a well-loved family restaurant for many years and served our community with professionalism and warmth. His community service is respected by business owners, community leaders, and families throughout our area. He has served on the Parish Council in many capacities throughout the years and is currently our Parish Council president. He helps organize and lead our annual Church Picnic Fest and helps coordinate many of our annual events. His leadership and dedicated efforts have been an inspiration to young people and stewards of all ages!
