James Metropulos has been a parishioner at our parish since 1967. Throughout the years, James has served on the Parish Council for approximately 35 years, of which 12 were as president. He has managed all construction campaigns, including the building of the community center, taking no fee, at a time when he had a young family to raise. He is the chairperson of our building committee and narthex committee. He is personally connected to all the families at St. George and his leadership was vital to the parish’s resurgence over the past six years. James’ tireless service, dedication to the church and love for its parishioners has been apparent for many years. This is especially evident when he encourages others to get involved in parish life. Due to all of this and more, the community of Saint George in Chicago is proud to name James Metropulos as their first recipient of the Metropolis Bronze Cross.
