As a member of St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Paulette Hastings is as an example of a true servant leader. When her children were young, she took the helm of Church School, where she encouraged families to journey together to grow closer to Christ. Paulette also designed a program for cleaning up the sanctuary following Divine Liturgy on the Saturday of Lazarus. As Philoptochos president she connected women to this vital ministry in creative ways. She guided new outreach and service programs to make our members more aware of how to make a difference in the world around us. Paulette was also in the inaugural class at the Tufts Strategic Leadership and Transformative Action training course. Her impact project seeks to bring more opportunities to learn about our Orthodox faith at our Greek Festival. Her program has the potential to be replicated at parishes throughout the Metropolis and beyond. Paulette has inspired many through her selfless, humble, and joyful example of servant leadership.
