CONDEMNS PARIS ATTACKS, OFFERS PRAYERS

The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Chicago, representing Greek Orthodox Christians throughout the Midwest, deplores the violent and senseless terrorist acts in Paris, France with the tragic loss of life. Our prayers and sympathies are extended to the family and friends of those killed and injured in this barbaric attack, and for their healing and comfort in the days to come by the grace and mercy of God. Furthermore, we pray for the peace of the world and the security of all, and that this shocking event does not result in the escalation of violent conflict sought by the terrorists and the Islamic State that has claimed responsibility.
