“IS THE BEAM FROM A LIGHTHOUSE AFFECTED BY HOWLING WIND AND RAIN? IT REMAINS PERFECTLY STEADFAST AND UNAFFECTED BY THE STORM. YOUR TRUE SELF IS LIKE THAT.” – Vernon Howard

Dear Lighthouse Family,

Thank you for attending our first year of Lighthouse this summer! Another memorable experience is in the books for the Metropolis of Chicago’s Youth and Young Adult Ministries (Y2AM Chicago). What a great week at Carroll University’s campus – exploring new places, being one with God and nature, making new friends, and being open to trying and learning new things. As I pause to reflect on our time together, my heart is filled with gratitude and joy that we were able to foster this space of faith and fellowship before our campers head off to college.

Thank you for showing up, being open, and bringing your best self every day to our daily activities. Every experience you will have in life is what you make of it, and everyone’s positive attitude made this week a blast! From the challenge courses to divine liturgy – you embraced the opportunities to grow your confidence, strengths, faith, beliefs, and friendships.

Kudos to the hard work of our staff all year long to build out this program. Our counselors, speakers, and interns were committed to connecting with our campers in meaningful ways and embodying the vision and values of Lighthouse. I am grateful for each staff member’s contribution, dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm they brought from start to finish.

We want you to know that you will always have a support system committed to your spiritual growth in Christ, academic excellence, and personal pursuits. We hope you will stay connected through Y2AM Chicago’s St. Paul Mentorship Program for Orthodox college students.

Lastly, if you haven’t done so already, please take 2-minutes to answer this brief survey about your experience with us. Thank you again for being a part of Lighthouse! Enjoy the rest of your summer.
